Brought to the U.S. from the British Isles in 1887 by David Murray, gardener for the Marquis of Ailsa. This heirloom onion is by far the largest onion you can grow, the key is to plant early and never let it slow down. A show-size variety that can win the county fair for largest onion! Pump these up with lots of nitrogen to get them as big as basketballs. Does not store long, so enjoy it soon after harvesting. Also known as the Kelsae Sweet Giant.
